Clean water flows from Basra Gateway

Treating Local Water Supplies: With Um Qasir suffering a severe shortage of clean water, Kufan engaged Basra's Governor, Mr. Khalaf Abdul Samad, with a proposal to supply the 80,000 residents of Um Qasir with drinking water from the Basra Gateway's water treatment plant.

With Kufan's proposal accepted, water is now being produced by twelve local wells, treated at the Basra Gateway's water treatment plant, and then distributed to Um Qasir three days a week at a rate of 4,000 cubic meters per day.

Improving UXO disposal in Qadasiyah

Business is Booming - UXO is Not: Kufan has recently completed Qadasiya's provincial EOD team headquarters in Diwaniya.

By completing the Qadasiya EOD facility, Kufan has helped ensure that Iraq’s economy continues to boom while Unexploded Ordnance (UXO) does not.

As the prime contractor, Kufan was responsible for the project's engineering, procurement, and construction.

The Al Mamoun Exchange is now open

Linking Iraq to the Global Market: Kufan has completed construction of the Al Mamoun Exchange in Baghdad’s Al Mansour area - a modern office complex that is vital to Iraq's Ministry of Communications and Baghdad's ongoing commercial development.

The Al Mamoun exchange complex includes an office building, post office, and parking garage, along with a telecom hub that links voice and data traffic within Iraq and provides connectivity to international data circuits.

Trade Winds Blowing in Basra: Located in southern Iraq, the Basra Gateway is being developed by Kufan and Northern Gulf Partners under the terms of a forty year investment license granted by the Basra Investment Commission in December, 2010.

The Basra Gateway is twenty kilometers from the Safwan border crossing, and forty kilometers south of the City of Basra. In addition, seven of Iraq's nine super-giant oilfields are within 150 kilometers of the Basra Gateway.

History Channel: Formerly known as Camp Bucca, the Basra Gateway is located on 300 hectares (740 acres) about two kilometers west of the Um Qasir deep water port.

Since the facility was previously used for military purposes, it is well-equipped with logistics and life-support capabilities.

Current facilities include staging for over 100 tractor trailers, secure housing in 1,700 HVAC equipped units, over 50,000 square feet of office space, and state-of-the art security.
